These little gems are simple packs of power that works well on a day when work, requiring much energy, is to be undertaken. You’ll find that strenuous labour and exercise are but few work loads that require these little blessings for the  sustenance of efficiency. Eat some 2 to 3 hours before you start your exploit. A useful way of enjoying new potatoes is to simply boil them in the skin and serve with steamed vegetables and a protein dish.

INGREDIENTS

3 kg new potatoes

2 L water

0.010 kg or 10 g salt

METHOD

  1. Add water to a big pot and bring to the boil. Wash potatoes thoroughly before placing into the pot of water by pouring it away from you to prevent the hot liquid splashing on your skin.
  2. Once the water starts to boil, turn down the heat and allow to simmer for 25-30 minutes until soft. Use a colander to pour of water and place the potatoes in a large bowl or serving dish. You can add butter or margarine and mix in gently or just serve it plain.
  3. Serve the potatoes with steamed carrot and another summer British vegetable, such as asparagus, and a protein dish such as a vegetarian or vegan sausage stew.
